No installation, no IT setup, no data risk.
Shift is a browser-based application. All programme data you enter — CIA entries, stakeholders, activities — is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. None of this data is transmitted to or stored on Shift's servers. This means your sensitive programme information never leaves your organisation's environment. We recommend always using the same browser on the same device, and exporting to Excel regularly as a backup. If you clear your browser history or cache, locally stored data will be deleted — so export frequently on Studio.
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, one of the world's leading payment platforms. Here's how it works: first, you fill in our 14-day trial form (no card required). Within 24 hours you'll receive your access code by email. If you decide to continue after the trial, we'll send you a secure Stripe payment link for your chosen plan — £490/mo for Starter or £1,290/mo for Studio. Your subscription recurs monthly and can be cancelled at any time by emailing shiftaichange@gmail.com. You'll receive a Stripe receipt for every payment. Shift never stores your card details.
Within 24 hours of submitting the form you'll receive an email from shiftaichange@gmail.com with: your workspace link, your personal access code, and a getting started guide. Open the link, enter your access code, and you're in. Your 14-day trial starts from the date you receive access. If you have any issues, just reply to that email.
No. Because data is stored in your browser, each user on their own device sees only their own data. Two team members using Shift on separate laptops have entirely separate workspaces — no overlap, no shared data. If you need a genuinely shared workspace where multiple team members see the same data, contact us about our Enterprise plan which supports team-level data sharing.
Yes. Every change saves automatically to your browser as you work. You'll see a "✦ Saved" indicator confirming this. Closing the tab, signing out, or shutting your laptop does not delete your work. Your data is there when you return. We recommend Studio users export to Excel regularly as an additional backup, since browser cache clearance would remove locally stored data.
Yes, on Studio. You can upload your existing C&E plan, stakeholder register or CIA template directly into Shift. The import reads your column headers and maps them automatically. You can also export everything back to Excel at any time. Starter users can add data manually.
AI extraction is a Studio-only feature that reads any document you upload — meeting transcripts, process maps, workshop outputs, Word docs, spreadsheets — and automatically identifies change impacts, stakeholder groups and communications activities. The AI presents a preview of everything it found before anything is added to your programme. You review, select what's relevant, and add it in one click. Documents sent for AI processing are not stored by Shift.
Starter gives you the full CIA module, Stakeholder Register and C&E Plan with up to 5 stakeholder groups. Studio unlocks AI document extraction, the Impact Heatmap, Excel import and export, and unlimited stakeholder groups. Studio is the right choice for most programmes. Starter suits smaller single-workstream teams or those just getting started.
